We have this much time on the clock to work together to make sure every student wins. |
Countdown
Governor Malloy outlined his overarching education proposal during his State of the State speech on Feb. 8.
“This is the super bowl of education and we have thirteen weeks on the clock to work together to make sure every student wins,” said Sharon Palmer, president of AFT Connecticut.
“Everyone is paying attention and this is an opportunity to make sure we improve education for every child in Connecticut.”
AFT Connecticut has proposed proven ideas to be included in legislation including:
-Strengthening community schools
-Improving collaboration amongst parents, teachers and administrators
-Teacher evaluation and development to help teachers improve
-Ensuring due process and rights at work
-Providing schools with the resources necessary to improve education
“We have fifty thousand educators who will be implementing the plan we lay out and it will take a good team working together to win for the children.”
